Chapter 36 A Secretary
Chapter 36 A Secretary
Knowing he had important business to attend to the next day, Chen Jiang simply decided to sleep in the house for the night.
The next morning, after getting himself ready and changing into a new outfit, Chen Jiang sent a message to his secretary at nine o'clock in the morning. He then drove towards Fuli Group and arrived at the company entrance at around 9:15.
The secretary was already waiting at the door. Upon seeing the car, she immediately jogged over, opened the door, and said with a smile:
"You've arrived very early, Mr. Chen."
"Chairman Yan is still in a meeting with senior management and won't have time for a while. Would you like to wait in Chairman Yan's office, or would you like me to show you around the company?"
"How long will Uncle Yan's meeting take?"
"Hmm, I'm not sure, but it'll probably take between ten minutes and half an hour."
"Then show me around first. I'm actually quite curious about the situation of a big company like ours."
"No problem, just follow me."
The secretary always had a smile on her face. After hearing Chen Jiang's request, she didn't waste any words and turned around to lead the way, while introducing each floor.
As the headquarters of a multi-billion dollar conglomerate, it's not like Xu Ruirui's modeling agency, where they just set up an office building and call it a day. So this entire building is an asset of R&F Group and is called R&F Tower.
The building has a total of 27 floors, which isn't actually that tall. The main problem is the numerous policy restrictions. As a mining group, R&F Group already receives a lot of attention, so it needs to be especially careful about the rules and regulations.
However, almost all 27 floors were used, mainly because as a large group, R&F Group's industries not only include mining itself, but also real estate, hotels, retail and other businesses, which requires a lot of employees.
However, if a new financial investment company is to be established, it is unlikely to be located at the group headquarters, but rather in Shanghai. After all, compared to Shenzhen, Shanghai is more comprehensive in terms of financial capital markets and it is more convenient to invest in companies.
Of course... these are things that Chen Jiang wouldn't know; it was mainly his secretary who explained and introduced them.
As they talked, Chen Jiang became interested in the secretary. As a mediocre student himself, he could sense the academic aura emanating from her, so he asked:
"Xiaoya, what's your educational background? How did you join R&F? How long have you been working here?"
"Mr. Chen, are you talking about me?"
Xiaoya was a little taken aback, but she quickly recovered and replied with a smile:
"Well, I'm actually a newbie... After graduating from Princeton, I chose to return to China to work."
"Don't laugh at me, but the main reason I was able to get a job at the group is because of some family connections. One of my uncles is a minor shareholder in the group, which is why I was able to get into the secretariat right after graduation."
"It should be a little over a year and a month now."
"Princeton?" Chen Jiang certainly knew the name. "A prestigious university, you can get in without connections, right?"
Xiaoya was a little embarrassed:
"Actually, it's not so bad... The main thing is that I didn't pursue any further studies, so I only have a bachelor's degree. My other colleagues are all from prestigious universities, and their minimum qualifications are master's degrees..."
"Well... she's still better than me."
Chen Jiang coughed, realizing he had been a bit ignorant.
"You can't say that," Xiaoya said shrewdly. "Even if someone has a high level of education, they're still working for you, aren't they?"
"this......"
Chen Jiang felt a little pleased by the flattery, but he couldn't be impolite, so he quickly replied modestly:
"That's because Uncle Yan and the others are really good; I just got lucky."
"Alright, alright, let's not talk about this anymore. It's almost ten o'clock, isn't Uncle Yan about time?"
Xiaoya raised her slender wrist, revealing her watch, and glanced at it:
"Yes, even if it's not over yet, it should be soon. Let's go to Chairman Yan's office and wait."
"Okay, lead the way."
......
It took Chen Jiang a few minutes to get to Yan Wenshuo's office and sit down.
But Chen Jiang didn't have to wait long. Soon, he heard conversations and footsteps in the corridor, followed by a greeting from Xiao Ya outside, and then the office door was opened.
Yan Wenshuo pushed open the door and came in, followed by several other people. He immediately spotted Chen Jiang, who had just gotten up to greet him.
"Uncle Yan."
"Xiao Jiang is here. No need to get up, just sit down. Don't be so polite with me."
Yan Wenshuo waved his hand, casually telling him to sit down first, then strode behind the desk, sat in the obviously luxurious boss's chair, and gently tapped the table:
"Then I can completely entrust the affairs of the financial investment company to you."
"Then this is Chen Jiang. He owns 10% of the shares in the financial investment company, but in his work he is only responsible for reviewing and communicating with the company. You don't need to consult him on professional matters, but you still can't fool him."
Upon hearing this, several people immediately looked at Chen Jiang, their eyes filled with curiosity and scrutiny, but not hostility for the time being.
After all, Yan Wenshuo's words were quite blunt, practically saying that this Chen Jiang was his spy planted in the financial branch.
Moreover, 10% of the shares... given the scale of a financial investment company, that's a billion dollars, which is no small amount. They're all just employees; they get dividends but no shares. So even if Chen Jiang really doesn't understand anything, they can't afford to offend him.
Otherwise, if Chen Jiang were to cause trouble, the damage would be considerable.
The group had different thoughts, but Yan Wenshuo didn't care about their opinions. With a wave of his hand, he began to introduce the identities of the group to Chen Jiang:
"By the way, Xiao Jiang, these two will be the managers in charge of the financial investment company in the future. Let me introduce them to you."
"This guy with glasses is Chen happy, the person in charge. He's from the same clan as you, so try to learn from him as much as possible in the future."
It then points to a middle-aged woman with a sharp appearance:
"Her name is Wu Mei, and she is the financial director. From now on, she will have complete control over the finances."
The middle-aged man, wearing glasses, slightly thin but quite handsome, smiled and extended his hand to Chen Jiang upon hearing this:
"Hello, Mr. Chen."
"Hello, hello, just call me Chen Jiang. Please take care of me in the future."
Wu Mei, who seemed rather unapproachable, also gave a friendly smile and extended her hand:
"Hello, Mr. Chen."
"Director Wu, please guide me in the future."
Chen Jiang also shook hands with her.
Yan Wenshuo spoke again:
"And the rest, you know them yourself, they're all senior executives selected from your company."
Upon hearing this, Chen Jiang nodded slightly to the others, as if to say hello.
Yan Wenshuo hadn't finished speaking yet:
"Also, besides being an advisor at the financial investment company, you should also take an advisory manager position within the group. This is mainly to make it easier to come back and communicate at any time. You don't need to do anything; you just need to collect your salary."
"Then I'll assign you a secretary."
What do you think of Xiaoya?
