Chapter 409: Beware Of The Villainess
Chapter 409: Beware Of The Villainess
"Another reason though, why Eisenmark, is perilous and famed at the same time, is because of its peculiarity."
I waited patiently, and she carried on after a breath.
"This nation owns the landmark that connects to the intercontinental sea, between Solarium and Forgoria."
I tilted my head slightly, left and right, thinking if I had ever heard of the continent, it sounded familiar but I couldn’t quite place it immediately. Luckily for me, I didn’t need to.
"The lands of the Dwarves and Dragonkins."
White Feather looked at Kassie and nodded grimly.
At the same time, the realization set in. The dwarves and the descendants of dragons.
’That has to be some overpowered continent! And its gateway is Eisenmark?’
White Feather continued with that grim expression.
"But it’s also the continent where the Titanos reside."
I frowned slightly. But the gloom of the situation darkened when I saw the intensity of the seriousness on Kassie’s face.
"The Titanos?"
Titanos, was a native interpretation of old Solarian language, if I wanted to guess with a more common tongue... that meant she had to be talking about.
’Giants.’
"The Giantkin."
The time my thought formed and the word fell from White Feather’s lips intercepted ominously.
’Ah, I see, no wonder even Kassie seems bothered, they definitely seem bothersome.’
I laughed the tension away, or at least tried to.
"So what? It’s not like our intention is to go to Forgoria, we are simply here to fetch bastard Fairywind and get back your daughter, and then we go back home and help you rebuild. I also want to know what Levi has been up to while I’m at it!"
White Feather gave me this intense look that even though I wanted to act like everything was fine, I couldn’t help but feel something sinister brewing.
’Don’t say it, don’t think about it.’
"Although our chances of meeting them are slim, they aren’t zero. The proximity alone, means something, it’ll be our worst nightmare to find out the three families have an army of giants with them."
My mouth fell open, if I could, I would have dropped dead right now.
I was here cautioning myself and she went and said it.
As if to make things worse, Kassie added.
"So what? They’re just giants, they have bones and flesh that can be torn and broken. Both the Durankors and the Drakonir. Besides, aren’t the Titanos known to be a Pacifist race?"
"Indeed, but they have suffered catastrophic damages from the Umbral Continent, leading them to take the hands of the Solaria Empire in saving themselves."
Kassie narrowed her gaze.
"The threat of Umbral was true?"
White Feather nodded.
And I, in between the two of them was lost. I looked at Kassie, then turned to White Feather.
’Can you imagine, these two were trying to kill each other just now.’
"Wh—what are you guys even talking about? Where’s Umbral continent and why are they so dangerous?"
White Feather opened her mouth to speak, but then I remembered something more important.
"Wait, forget that, we can talk about it later, right now, I want to know about these families... the ones that control Eisenmark, is there a chance that Hammerfeld is a part of them?"
White Feather’s expression turned stern and she nodded.
"Exactly, Lord Cade, how do you know of this? The Hammerfeld Family controls the Permafrost Flatlands, the agricultural heartland of the nation, although it could barely be referred to as such, however, it is all the nation has to depend on. Along with this, they also control the Dense hold-network and the Amber mining Plains. They’re the owner of the Great Vault, the largest Preservation facility in all of Eardrum."
In silence, I digested every single one of her words.
’If she’s saying in the whole of Ealdrim, then isn’t she practically talking about the world. Oh... they really are the shit, the boy wasn’t bluffing.’
I nodded subtly, thinking about this. At the same time though, I had to wonder.
’How did Sulin meet someone like this? Who is she and why is she escorting him?’
Perhaps, she’s also some influential nobleman’s daughter?’
I faced White Feather.
"Give me a rundown on the rest..."
"There’s the Schwarzbeg family that control the West, which are the Mountain borderlands and the Forgoria border. They are, in all three families, the most self-sufficient people and are in control of the harshest land. And we have the Grimmwald Family that control the East, which is here, the forests and everything beyond all the way to the Capital, although they have been trying to lay hold on the Ice Roads for a long time, it has been the ruling family’s jurisdiction, the Stalhberg."
I nodded attentively and thoughtfully.
"Okay, noted then."
White Feather seemed distracted for a moment, then she looked at me.
"Lord Cade, I must warn you."
’Oh no...’
"Although, I do not know if she still exists, but Grimmwald is ruled by a Countess, Countess Ilse von Grimmwald. Please at all cost... do not get involved with her."
I returned the look of seriousness.
"Trust me, I am very much inclined to follow your warnings, and I will. But this warning is why exactly?"
White Feather sounded quite tense, so I had to know.
She looked at me, shifted her eyes to Kassie and returned to me.
"She has a summon, a very powerful villainess summon, the rumors are, she’s a Calamity, Brunhilde."
Kassie’s eyes widened the moment the name was mentioned.
"What? That arrogant fossil, she is alive!"
Kassie looked intensely furious, pale, scared, excited, all at the same time. And it made me insanely curious who this Brunhilde was.
I turned to White Feather wanting to ask more questions, but at the same time, I felt something outside and grimaced.
"White Feather, I’ll be back."
I threw one glance at Kassie, who was still grinning at herself, then letting out a sigh, I vanished.
And returned to reality.
And an axe was flying towards me.
