Chapter 1036 - 983: The Jealous Mother
Chapter 1036 - 983: The Jealous Mother
George and Curly just kissed once, and later George remembered that his not-so-reliable mom dragged him to eat Stinky Tofu.
Then...
If he hadn’t eaten Stinky Tofu that day, would his journey to pursue his wife have been less bumpy?
...
Flower shop,
"Auntie, we want to visit a patient, what kind of flowers should we bring?" Curly asked.
"Orchids, daffodils, calla lilies, and lilies are all good choices..."
The shop is filled with flowers, each one beautiful, and Curly couldn’t decide, so she asked the daydreaming George, "George, what flowers should we buy?"
"Roses!" George blurted out.
"But Auntie didn’t mention giving roses earlier."
"If someone you love gets sick, roses are suitable too."
Curly explained, "We’re going to see his grandfather, not his girlfriend."
"Buy two, one for my grandfather, and one for my girlfriend."
The shop owner asked, "You have a girlfriend?"
George pointed at Curly, "She is my girlfriend, and we’ll get married when we turn 18."
Back in the day, Curly might have argued, but now she didn’t mind anymore, letting him say whatever he wanted.
"Are kids these days all so mature?"
Curly stuck her tongue out at George, "Shame, shame shame... Thinking about a wife at such a young age."
George’s face turned a little red, and he didn’t dare to look at Curly.
The shop owner picked two bouquets for them, one of lilies, one of roses, and George took out his wallet from his backpack, thick with bills.
"How much?"
"25 dollars 20 cents, you can just give me 24."
George handed her 30, saying, "Keep the change as a tip."
The shop owner held the 30 dollars, both amused and frustrated. Are kids this playful nowadays? Knowing how to give tips.
They got in the car, and Curly asked, "How much pocket money do your parents give you?"
"I spend it all, then my dad gives more."
"How nice."
"How much pocket money do you get?"
"15 per week."
"That little?"
"That’s why I have to work hard and earn money. George, let me take some semi**** photos to earn money." Curly looked at George pitifully.
"If you need money, I can lend it to you."
"Borrowing means I still have to pay back!"
"Marry me, and you won’t have to repay."
"But, I won’t marry you!"
"Why?"
Curly thought of the lines from Leanne Andrews’ script and gave George a good person card, "George, you’re a great person, but I have no feelings for you."
George stopped talking.
...
At the hospital, Lorie Cooper parked the car and led them to the ward where George’s grandfather stayed.
In the ward, Aria Harris was feeding the old man, and Owen Hunter and Aria looked very tired, but the old man seemed in good spirits.
"Mom and Dad, Grandpa, Curly and I have come to see you."
Curly also greeted, "Hello Uncle, Hello Auntie Agatha, Hello Grandpa."
George corrected, "You called it wrong, it’s not Grandpa, it’s Grandpa."
"My mom said everyone old is called Grandpa. That’s not wrong."
Owen laughed heartily, "Kid, what’s the rush? This isn’t settled yet, is it?"
"Grandpa, I represent our family in wishing you a speedy recovery and a long life." Curly handed the lilies to the old man.
Aria Harris didn’t like Curly and harshly said, "Didn’t your mom teach you? You can’t give white flowers to a patient. Are you visiting a patient, or attending a funeral?"
Owen stopped her, "Aria, she’s just a kid, what does she know?"
George said, "Curly didn’t choose it, I did. I thought the lilies were beautiful, so I bought them."
"You shut up!"
Curly wasn’t dumb. She knew Aria Harris didn’t like her, but she didn’t like her either, "My mom didn’t teach me, so if you don’t like it, give the flowers back to me."
Curly really took the flowers back, holding them in her arms, and said to George, "Grandpa, take care, I’m leaving."
Grandfather said, "It’s rare for you to come by, stay a while before leaving."
"No, I need to go back and see my brother."
Curly left the ward with a big bunch of lilies, her mood unaffected.
The ward had only the Hunter Family left.
The old man admonished his daughter, "Is this what I taught you from childhood? You’re no better than a child?"
"Who gives white flowers? Isn’t she cursing you?"
"I have no grudge against her, why would she curse me? Aria, you’ve disappointed me greatly."
Aria was also aggrieved. People say: raising a son is like raising him for someone else, when he grows up, he becomes another woman’s. But he hasn’t even grown up yet, and he’s already leaning towards outsiders.
George saw everyone was gathered and voiced what he had been keeping in his heart, "Mom and Dad, I want to stay in Sileria City and live with Grandpa."
"What?"
"Mom is pregnant, and once the baby is born, I’ll be able to accompany Mom and Dad."
After hoping for so many years, Aria was pregnant again, just over a month along, afraid of startling the baby, so she didn’t dare announce it.
Aria angrily said, "Stay behind for Grandpa, I think you want to stay behind and be with Curly!"
"Yes, I also want to stay behind with Curly." George said honestly.
Aria was so angry she hit him, admonishing, "If you dare stay behind, you’re not my son!"
Owen, holding his son in his arms, dissatisfied, said, "Why do you hit him?"
"Hit him for being ungrateful!"
"I’ve decided, I’ll stay and live with Grandpa!"
Aria said, "Owen, go post an ad for me saying I’m severing mother-son ties with George!"
Owen said, "Your mom is jealous of Curly..."
"Who is jealous?"
George seemed easygoing, but deep down he was more stubborn than anyone else, just look at how he stuck to liking Curly.
"I’ve already decided!" George said.
Aria was so upset by George that she cried, saying she raised him in vain.
The old man looked at his grandson and said, "Aria, I have only one daughter, your mom passed away early, and now you’re married to Abyanabad, not seeing each other much all year, so let George stay to accompany me in my old age."
Aria was about to object, but the old man said, "I won’t live long. Don’t let me die at home and rot without anyone knowing."
"Dad, what are you talking about? Isn’t there a nanny?"
"Nanny isn’t family."
George said, "I’ll stay and take care of you. Lately, I’ve learned to cook, to do laundry, even clean the house."
Aria cried and said, "What? You cook for Curly, do her laundry, and clean her house?"
