Chapter 31 Heading to the billiards hall, I ran into the blond guy again!
Lin Wan looked down at herself.
Her figure hasn't changed much, and her skin is still relatively well-maintained, but compared to the young girls on screen, she can't compare in any aspect.
She didn't want to admit it, but the facts were undeniable, leaving her no choice but to face them.
Her fingers were trembling, and it felt like a fire was burning in her chest, from her heart all the way to her throat, making it hard for her to breathe.
Lin Wan gritted her teeth, wishing she could smash her phone on the ground.
Chen Mo has fallen!
She bit her lip, cursing him in her mind over and over again.
Chen Mo is a filthy and disgusting man, surrounded by so many shady women.
Fortunately, she left him early, otherwise she doesn't know how disgusted she would have been.
Why didn't she see through Chen Mo's true nature sooner?
After finishing her rant, Lin Wan slammed the screen shut, threw her phone on the bedside table, turned over, and closed her eyes.
But her mind was filled with images.
The image of Chen Mo sitting at the piano, the way his fingers danced across the keys, and the light in the eyes of the girls surrounding him.
She tossed and turned, lifting the blanket and covering herself again, then lifting it again.
The pillow was turned in one direction, then back again.
She opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling, then closed them again to count sheep.
Useless.
I just can't fall asleep.
The bitterness and anger in her heart were like a tangled mess, wrapping around her chest, tightening and suffocating her.
Meanwhile, in the restaurant.
Chen Mo put down his chopsticks, and the girls had almost finished eating.
Seven or eight plates on the table were empty, and the remaining plates were also swept clean by Little Deer and Coco.
Chen Mo picked up a tissue to wipe his mouth and glanced at the time on his phone.
"Are you full?"
Several girls nodded repeatedly. Some leaned back in their chairs and rubbed their bellies, some picked up their water glasses and took the last sip, and some took out their phones to check their faces and touch up their lipstick.
Chen Mo stood up, and the girls followed suit, picking up their bags and phones and filing out of their seats one after another.
Just as they turned to leave, a voice rang out from behind them.
"Hello, please wait a moment."
Chen Mo turned around.
Lin Zhixia stood in front of him, less than two steps away.
She was wearing a light gray dress, her long hair draped over her shoulders, and the warm lights of the restaurant shone down from above, casting a soft honey hue on her face.
Her features are even more exquisite up close; the curve of her brow bone, the height of her nose bridge, and the contour of her lips are all perfectly proportioned.
The coldness that had been in her almond-shaped eyes was gone, replaced by a soft light.
Her lips were slightly upturned, the curve wasn't large, but it looked very nice.
"Hello, could we please add a contact method?"
"You play the piano so well, may I ask you for some pointers sometime?"
Chen Mo was stunned for a moment.
The girl did indeed appear quite aloof when she was sitting in the audience.
She sat with Zhou Ziheng, barely smiling the entire time, and didn't speak to anyone on her own initiative, like a snow lotus blooming on an iceberg, quietly exuding its fragrance.
He hadn't expected the other person to have such a proactive side.
Since the other party was being so proactive, he couldn't very well refuse.
"Can."
Chen Mo took out his phone from his pocket and opened the WeChat QR code.
Lin Zhixia's eyes lit up, and she smiled, the curve of her mouth wider than before, revealing a row of neat white teeth.
"That's great, thank you."
She took her phone out of her dress pocket, opened the QR code scanner, pointed it at Chen Mo's screen, and with a beep, the friend request was successfully sent.
Chen Mo clicked "accept" and put his phone back in his pocket.
Lin Zhixia also put away her phone, looked up at him, and her lips moved.
"Let's keep in touch."
After saying that, she turned and left.
Without the slightest hesitation, she walked at a moderate pace, her light gray skirt swaying gently in the air, her long hair slipping down her shoulders to reveal a section of her fair and slender nape.
Chen Mo watched her retreating figure, a slight smile playing on his lips.
This girl has a rather endearing personality.
Not clingy, not entangled, decisive and efficient, leaving as soon as they finish speaking, like a refreshing autumn breeze.
His gaze shifted from Lin Zhixia's back to the person not far behind her.
Zhou Ziheng remained standing in the same spot, his hands hanging at his sides, his fingers clenched into fists.
The expression on his face was no longer concealed.
Envy, jealousy, and anger mixed together, like being punched hard – it was incredibly unpleasant.
His gaze shifted from Lin Zhixia's back to Chen Mo's face, his eyes slightly reddened, his cheeks puffed out with a hard ridge, and his teeth clenched so tightly they made a grinding sound.
That look seemed to say, "Why? Why? Why? Why?"
Chen Mo looked at him, and her smile widened even more.
He didn't say anything, or even look at it for long, and turned his head away.
"Alright, let's go."
He said something to the girls around him.
Xiao Rou and Xiao Lu responded at the same time, their voices overlapping and as clear as wind chimes.
Seven figures walked through the restaurant's corridor, past the whispering guests, through the warm yellow light, and out the door.
The night breeze swept over me, carrying the lively atmosphere unique to the commercial street and the fresh scent of early summer plants.
Chen Mo took a deep breath, feeling refreshed.
He turned to look at the girls filing out behind him.
"Where to go next? Home or somewhere else to go?"
The girls immediately started chattering amongst themselves.
"Let's go to the night market, it's still early anyway," Xiaolu said first, her ponytail swaying gently in the night breeze.
"Didn't you just eat? Why are you going to the night market?" Coco rolled her eyes at her.
"Let's go to karaoke, it's been so long since I sang." Xiaorou's voice was still soft, with a hint of anticipation in her tone.
"My voice is hoarse from shouting, I can't sing anymore," Xiaolu shook her head.
"How about we go to a bar for a drink?" Sweetie raised her hand, then withdrew it, two blushes rising on her round face.
"But we're so full from eating today, can we still drink?" Sister Nan frowned, somewhat hesitant.
"Let's go play billiards, relax a bit, it's been a long time since we played." Xiaolu clapped her hands, her gaze sweeping over her sisters.
Coco tilted her head and thought for a moment, then nodded.
Xiaorou also agreed.
Sweetie and Xiaoning had no objections.
Chen Mo remained silent, watching them discuss quietly.
Six girls sat in a circle, talking amongst themselves, their voices overlapping like a flock of sparrows on a branch at dawn.
The night breeze lifted their hair and skirts, and the streetlights cast long, overlapping shadows of them.
Chen Mo's lips curved slightly.
"Let's play billiards." He straightened up. "Let's go."
The girls cheered and then headed towards the billiards hall.
After turning a corner at the end of the commercial street, a three-story building came into view.
A neon sign hangs on the exterior wall of the second floor, with several large colorful characters flashing in the night.
"Star Billiards Club".
Several electric bikes and a modified motorcycle were parked downstairs, their bodies covered with colorful stickers.
The staircase is on the outside of the building; it's made of iron and makes a thumping sound when you step on it.
Chen Mo walked at the front, with the girls following behind him. The sound of their footsteps on the iron stairs overlapped, like a dense drumbeat.
The door on the second floor was open, and the smell of smoke, mixed with cheap perfume and sweat, wafted out and filled the corridor.
Chen Mo went inside.
The hall was larger than I had imagined, with more than a dozen billiard tables, their green surfaces gleaming dimly under the fluorescent lights.
The walls were covered with posters of well-known domestic billiards players, as well as some foreign players that Chen Mo didn't recognize.
Several chandeliers hung from the ceiling, casting a dim, yellowish light that enveloped the entire hall in an ambiguous, dark hue.
There were quite a few people.
Several young men with dyed hair sat at a few tables near the entrance, cigarettes between their fingers, legs crossed, talking and occasionally letting out a rough laugh.
There were people playing ball at several tables in the middle, mostly young people around twenty years old, with tattoos, ripped jeans, and earrings; they didn't look like respectable people at first glance.
In the corner, there were two tables of middle-aged people, dressed simply, playing ball in silence, occasionally exchanging a few words in hushed tones, seemingly out of place in this setting.
Chen Mo's gaze swept across the lobby and he walked to the front desk.
A woman in her forties sat at the front desk, with curly hair, knitting a sweater in her hands, without even looking up.
"It takes two hours to drive there."
Chen Mo took out his phone, scanned the QR code, and paid thirty yuan.
The woman took the money, tore off a receipt and handed it over, pointing inside, "Table number six, it's empty."
Chen Mo took the receipt and turned to walk towards table number six.
The girls followed behind him like a flock of chicks following a mother hen.
Just then, Chen Mo's gaze stopped.
In the innermost corner of the hall, against the wall, there is a pool table.
A young man with dyed blond hair sat on a sofa next to the pool table, a cigarette dangling from his mouth, one hand in a cast, legs crossed, looking arrogant.
Chen Mo was stunned for a moment.
Then he laughed.
He didn't expect to see an acquaintance here.
